BET Networks recently acquired the Soul Train franchise for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition includes 1,100 television episodes of Soul Train from creator/producer Don Cornelius as well as 40 television specials. In addition, a Soul Train cruise has been planned and the 2017 lineup was revealed yesterday. Chaka Khan, Kool & The Gang, the Commodores and Chic featuring Nile Rodgers are among the artists who  will be performing in celebration of the cruise’s fifth anniversary. The event will be hosted by Cornelius’s son, Tony Cornelius. “The  Hippest Trip At Sea”, in association with Star Vista Live,  will visit Belize City (Belize), Cozumel (Mexico) and Freeport (Bahamas) during its March 4-11 2017 run, originating from Ft. Lauderdale FL. R&B singer Tinashe announced via a Facebook post that her upcoming overseas tour to support her forthcoming album “Joyride” has been postponed due to unexpected recording commitments. The songstress hosted a live Q&A on Facebook to field questions from fans. She revealed that she’s recording more music so that her record label will release the album. Before putting the tour on the backburner, she expressed uncertainty to the Washington Post regarding when her album would see the light of day. She told the paper: “I’m ready to get it out. I’ve been sitting on this music for a while so I can’t wait for other people to hear it.” No one representing the singer has responded publicly thus far. After a series of canceled dates and postponed shows, singer Janet Jackson announced a sudden change to her tour plans. The 49-year-old stated in a video message to fans that she will put tour plans on hold so that she and her husband Wissam Al Mana can  plan a family. While no news has surfaced regarding a pregnancy, Jackson kept her announcement mysterious and joyful. While postponing tour plans in the past siting her health and an undisclosed surgery, Jackson denied cancer rumors after they began circulating. She later announced that the tour would resume on May 14 before making her  most recent announcement. At any rate, let’s hope we get more updates from the star. It’s great to see how she’s already glowing. A$AP Ferg didn’t mince words when he stated that his upcoming album would be crazy. He shared a track list with Billboard magazine and it reads like a who’s who of hip hop. It features collaborations with Missy Elliott, Rick Ross, Chuck D and Big Sean. The A$AP Mob member told Billboard magazine last December that he had enlisted the services of Future, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign and Skrillex for his sophomore album and later shared a track with TDE’s Schooboy Q. Their participation was a message shared via Ferg’s social media accounts.
