Two weeks ago, singer Faith Evans revealed on the Dame Dash Radio Show that she’s preparing a duet album featuring her late husband the Notorious B.I.G. titled “The King & I” and that she’s been in talks with several hologram companies regarding using his image in videos and on tour. Now, the estate of the Notorious B.I.G. has confirmed that it has given the green light to use the rapper’s image in videos and on tour. The first place the hologram will be seen is in a video for Faith Evans’ first single from “The King & I”. Along with the video, the hologram will reportedly be used for a performance during Puff Daddy & the Family’s upcoming two night reunion concert next month. Grammy and Tony Award winning singer Heather Headley will join the cast of the Broadway production of The Color Purple as Shug Avery. She will be taking over for singer Jennifer Hudson. It will be her first appearance on Broadway since winning a Tony Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance in Adia in 2000. Hudson’s role will wrap on May 8 and Headley will take over on May 10. Headley has released two albums to her credit. “This Is Who Iam” in 2002 and “In My Mind” in 2004. Rapper Nas and Hennessy V.S. have reunited. The Queensbridge MC narrates the fourth installment of the brand’s “Wild Rabbit” ad campaign “The Piccards”. In keeping with the company’s boundary pushing “Never stop, never settle” motto, Nas tells the story of the Piccard family, whose real life pursuits personify that mantra. Directed by Daniel Wolfe, the film will make its debut Tuesday on Hennessy’s digital channels as part of the company’s cross-platform rollout across television, mobile and desktop. The broadcast spot will begin airing on April 16. With “Barber Shop: The Next Cut” opening in theaters on Friday, the cast has been promoting the third film in the franchise in a variety of ways. First, co-stars Ice Cube (who plays Calvin) and Common ( who plays Eve’s spouse and barber Rashad) stormed “The Tonight Show” stage to perform the “Real People” from the film’s soundtrack backed by house band The Roots. In addition, Ice Cube, along with co-stars Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall, Eve and Lemorne Harris to for a style appointment with dolls. “Barber Shop: The Next Cut” will be released in theaters this Friday.
