Not only do New Edition fans  have a biopic of their favorite group to look forward to, but an album may be in the works as well. According to New Edition member Johnny Gill, the group is in talks to record new music in conjunction with the biopic, which will air on BET in 2017. The biopic is currently in the casting stages, with “Empire” star Bryshere Gray and singer Luke James having signed on. Official casting announcements have not been made at press time. If a new album from New Edition surfaces, it will be the first since 2004’s “One Love”. Students at Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark NJ got the surprise of their lives  when singer Erykah Badu appeared and performed in the school cafeteria. Back in 2014, Badu teamed up with the education initiative the Future Project to surprise students with a performance of her single “On And On”, although the video is now being shared. She even ate off one student’s plate as she sang. Without question, that was a moment many aren’t likely to forget. Rapper Drake’s “Views From The 6” has turned out to be quite a spectacle. With the leaks “Faithful”, featuring the late Pimp C, “These Days”  and “Controlla”, featuring Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan and “Pop Style”, featuring Kanye West and Jay Z, there are several directions the MC could take his views. As for rumors regarding the project: Drake delivered his released date via Twitter with a montage of his personal highlights with the date 04/29/16 , an important iCali note for the OVO Hive. “Views” may be available on Apple exclusively for one week after its April 29 release. At any rate, fans are in store for some delicious ear candy. Introducing rapper DMX to Snapchat’s FaceSwap filter was definitely not his idea, since he seems caught off  guard. Actress Paige Hurd , a close friend of X’s, showed him the FaceSwap feature for the first time and it freaked him out so badly, that it’s difficult not to laugh. X, however, had so much fun once he got used to it that his first FaceSwap more than likely won’t be his last.
