Newcomer Kent Jones moves from 29-13 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart with his debut single “Don’t Mind Me”, due in part to a 53 percent leap streams during the week ending May 12 to 6. 5 million according to Nielsen Music. Most streams stem from Spotify, with 2.6 million coming from the on-demand service. The rapper, a signee to DJ Khaled’s We The Best label, also increases 28 percent in airplay, logging 41 million audience impressions in the week ending May 15. DJ Khaled often features the track during his Snap Chap stories, and has also brought Jones to perform as his opening act on Beyoncé’s “Formation World Tour”. Meanwhile, Alicia Keys enters the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart at No 14 with her new single “In Common”. The majority of the points contributing to it’s debut come from 2.2 million streams in the week ending May 12,  a 31 percent spike, following partial tracking week of streams after the song’s May 3 premiere. It grants Keys her 30th hit, as it debuted at No 42. It  hasn’t  been announced whether  “In Common” will appear on a new studio album. Fans can catch the Billboard Music Awards on May 22. The event will be hosted by rapper Ludacris and singer Ciara. It’s sure to be an exciting show.
