Early last month, singer/songwriter Frank Ocean posted a library slip on his website with a  due date of July 2016, presumably the due date of his sophomore album “Boys Don’t Cry.” The month of July came and went without a word from Ocean, but this morning fans saw an update on his website. As a tease, Ocean posted live stream of him cutting wood in a hallway of workbenches to his website. What does it mean? One possibility is that Ocean is still working on the album. At any rate, new music from Frank Ocean is on the way. In addition to new music, R&B singer Tweet also has a new romance brewing. It was announced on an episode of  the reality series “The Preachers” that she is dating Pastor Jamal Bryant, who pastors the Empowerment Temple AME Church in Baltimore MD. Pastor Bryant was previously married to Gizelle Bryant of “The Real Housewives Of Potomac.” The couple divorced in 2009 due to Bryant’s cheating and share three daughters. Bryant stated he met the singer at an Oprah Winfrey movie premiere. Meanwhile, Tweet says it’s been difficult dating Bryant due to rumors and the number of women claiming to be his girlfriend. Essence magazine writer Demetria Lucas D’Oyley wrote in May that a masseuse accused the pastor of fathering her 10-month old son, and claims that he won’t acknowledge or financially support the child. We’ll have to wait and see what transpires. R&B singer Mario appeared on the ABC series “Greatest Hits” to perform his 2004 single “Let Me Love You”. Actress/singer Zendaya joined him  for a male/female duet of the song that would make a great remix. Last week, EnVogue took the stage with June’s Diary, Kelly Rowland’s new quintet, for a rendition of “Free Your Mind.” Mario is working on new music and Zendaya is preparing for her role in the forthcoming “Spiderman” film. Drake’s annual OVO Fest is always filled with surprises. For the past six years, the rapper has pulled out all the stops by bringing out Eminem, Jay Z, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Mase, Lauryn Hill, P. Diddy, Stevie Wonder, Pharrell, Nas and others. While Saturday’s show wasn’t as star studded,  Toronto still shone brightly for  its beloved 6 God. The show took place at the Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Raptors, for whom Drake serves as global ambassador. The one surprise of the evening was Rhianna, on whose “Anti Tour” Drake has made several cameo appearances. The songstress performed her hits “Needed Me” and “Bitch Betta Have My Money” before Drake joined her on stage to perform their hit “Work” and the new single “Too Good”. All in all, it was a night fans won’t likely forget.
