The Top Dawg Entertainment signee announced yesterday that her album is being held up primarily by her label via a Twitter post. Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Terrance “Punch” Henderson has yet to directly respond to the tweet. However, shortly after Sza’s post was published, he shared an image of Health Ledger’s Joker with an lol caption beneath it. Sza released her debut EP “See-Sza-Run” in 2012. Upon signing with Top Dawg Entertainment in 2013, she released “S” followed by 2014’s “Z”. Her forthcoming studio effort, “A”, is awaiting a release date. Singer Ciara, who recently made headlines for her marriage to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, is now pursuing a modeling career with her signing to IMG Models. The highly anticipated BET produced New Edition biopic, “The New Edition Story”, now has an air date. The official air date and time will be January 24, 2017, and at that time, fans will get an opportunity to see the story of how five young boys from Boston became one of the biggest R&B groups of the 1980’s. During the three night series, the biopic will focus on the group’s 30 year history, which includes breakups, makeups and performances. The members of New Edition were involved with the production, so fans can be sure there will be a lot of juicy details regarding what went on behind the scenes. The film stars Byshere Y. Following his “Tonight Show” performance last night, rapper Chance the Rapper is preparing for his next musical adventure, remixing Kit Kat’s “Give Me A Break” jingle. The 30 second add features the Chicago native perusing the candy aisle of a convenience store, while wearing a bear Halloween costume. He hears someone call his name, only to realize that it’s his face superimposed on a Kit Kat wrapper. This reinterpretation of “Give Me A Break” marks the first time the lyrics have been changed in 30 years as well as the first time a recording artist has revamped the jingle. Cable channel MTV is revamping its “MTV Docs” beginning with a special conversation featuring President Barak Obama and rapper Mackelmore titled “Prescription For Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis”. The hour long documentary, which debuts today at the White House’s South Lawn Festival, will discuss the opioid epidemic, as the two discuss their own experiences with substance use. The documentary is sure to educate many on substance abuse and how to combat it.
