Fantasia Monique Barrino, known professionally as simply Fantasia, is a singer/songwriter/actress from High Point NC. She rose to fame after winning season three of the reality series  “American Idol” in 2004. Shortly after her victory, she released her debut single “I Believe”, which went on to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She released her debut album “Free Yourself”, which went platinum and earned three Grammy nominations in 2006. She followed that album with the albums “Fantasia”, “Back To Me”, “Fantasia For Real” and  “Side Effects Of You”. She made her acting debut in the musical “The Color Purple” as the character Celie, for which she earned rave reviews. She released the album “The Definition Of” on July 29, 2016.
