Yunalis Mat Zara’ai, known simply as Yuna, is a Malaysian singer/songwriter/business woman. Born and raised in Kedah, she began writing songs at the age of 14. She later taught herself to play guitar, and by 2006, in need of a creative outlet while attending law school, began performing for audiences. She offered her music via a My Space page, which went on receive over one million plays. Her online success attracted the attention of the Indi/Pop management company to her music, and in 2011, she was signed to Fader Records. She made her recording debut in Malaysia in 2008 with a self titled EP, and later went on to win five Malaysian Music award nominations. She took home four trophies, including Best New Artist. “The Decorate” followed two years later. In 2012, she released the single “Live Your Life”, which was produced by Pharrell Williams. In 2016, she released the album “Chapters.”
