inSinger/songwriter/producer Daron Jones is one of the most underrated talents in the industry. One fourth of the R&B group 112, Jones has created his for 112, Keyshia Cole, Pink, Usher, The Isley Brothers and others. In tribute to the late George Michael, Jones recorded a remake of Michael’s hit “One More Try.” The track is beautiful and serene, with Jones’ pitch perfect vocals being the highlight. Fans can download “The Unoffical Diary Of Daron Jones” via Audiomack. The project is a collection of R&B remakes that is worth adding to any collection.

inIn early 2015, it was announced that the surviving members of TLC, Tionne “T Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, would be releasing their final album and created a Kickstarter campaign to help fund it. $430,000 was raised, and fans became nervous, wondering if they were scammed out of their money when an album didn’t come as quickly as they’d hoped. Well, fans can relax. Yesterday, TLC’s longtime manager, Bill Diggins, announced that the album will be released at the end of June. The 4, 201 backers who contributed monetarily to the project will receive an advanced copy of the album. Diggins elaborated that the release of the album took a long time because coordinating the schedules of the group members, writers, executive producer Ron Fair and recording sessions took time. The group wanted to create a work that fans would be proud of. It’s been a long time coming and fans are no doubt looking forward to hearing the album. Up and coming New Jersey artist Felicia Temple has made a name for herself on “The Voice.” During the first episode of the 12th season, during which auditions were held, Temple wowed judges with her rendition of the Etta James classic “All I Could Do Is Cry.” Three of the four judges all hit the button, turning in their chairs to face Temple in interested in having her join their team. Temple revealed that she performed Alicia Keys songs during talent shows, prompting Adam Levine to request a duet between the two. Keys took the stage to perform her debut single “Fallen.” The result was a soulful, impromptu collaboration, which found Keys and Temple harmonizing in unrehearsed unison. Jay Z has secured another big screen gig. According to Playbill, Hova will serve as co-producer for the Lin Manuel play In The Heights. Harvey Weinstein made the announcement during a pre-Oscar party on Sunday. Last September, Jay Z joined The Weinstein Company for the forthcoming Spike TV docuseries “TIME: The Kalief Browder Story.” Representatives for Jay Z and Miranda have not publicly commented.

in“American Idol” runner up La’Porsha Renae will release her highly anticipated debut album, “Already All Ready”, on March 31 via 19 Recordings/Motown Records. Available for pre-order, the 13 track project is headed by the Harmony “H-Money” Samuels produced single “Good Woman.” Fans who purchase the album early will also receive the singles “”What Is Love”, “Already All Ready” and the Ne-Yo written and produced track “Somebody Does.” In addition to announcing the album release date, the songstress also revealed the album artwork. She indicated that the cover represents her insecurities. She added that she represents beautiful, full figured women, single mothers and natural women as well. She added that the album title is not considered to be ideal in terms of describing a star. La’Porsha Renae was introduced to the world via the 15th and final season of the reality talent show “American Idol.” A native of McComb MS, she’s ready to reveal everything she wasn’t able to on the show. Before the biggest blunder in Academy Award history, singer John Legend took the stage to perform a medley of songs from the film “La La Land”, which he stars in and co-produced. Seated at a grand piano on the glamourous stage, the R&B star performed “City Of Stars” and “Audition.” Opening with a dance troupe performing around city lights, the set later transitioned to a beautiful starry night, as the dancers continued gliding around him, some flying in the air. It was an amazing performance to say the least. Both Drake and The Weekend are currently touring Europe, and fans in Oberhausen Germany received a huge surprise when the 6 God brought Starboy on stage. Abel worked the arena into a frenzy with the hit “The Hills” as red lights illuminated the stage. Drake made certain he showed his fellow Canadian love as the two embraced and called one another the real Starboy. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Roots Picnic, a festival launched by the Philadelphia hip hop band and their long time manager Shawn Gee, headliners Pharrell Williams, Lil Wayne and Solange will take over the City of Brotherly Love. After launching the New York City counterpart last fall, the Picnic will return to Philadelphia on Saturday June 3. The Roots intend to put together a unique lineup that doesn’t get lost in the shuffle of festival season. In addition to the headlining acts, 21 Savage, Kimbra, Khalid, PNB Rock and NoName will also perform. All in all, the goal is to create a once in a lifetime experience for picnic goers. Without question, the group will achieve that feat.
