R&B star Trey Songz has returned to give fans a look at his personal life and feelings via his seventh studio effort “Tremaine.” The singer/songwriter’s latest project contains 15 tracks, which he has been teasing through his online adaptation of a reality dating show titled “Tremaine: The Playboy”, the past several weeks. Since the series debuted in February, Trey has released the singles “Nobody Else But You”, “Playboy”, “Song Goes Off”, “She Lovin It” and “Animal.” “Tremaine: The Album” directly reflects his desire to embrace his mature self by settling down with the right woman and starting a family, while dealing with his superstar status, which makes that dream a difficult one to reach. During an interview with “The Breakfast Club”, the singer discussed the concept of the mock dating show and using it as a platform to release visuals for songs from the album. He elaborated that the way fans love reality tv and drama, the illusion that he could do it made it a great way to introduce the music. “Tremaine: The Album” is the follow up to 2014’s “Trigga” and 2015’s “Trigga: Reloaded.” According to Songz, his hiatus was due to somber moments. Thankfully, he has made it through those times with new experiences and perspectives on his life and career, which he’s ready to share with the world. In support of his new album, Trey will begin “Tremaine: The Tour” on May 3 in Detroit MI, and will perform intimate shows for a month in major cities including Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Atlanta and others before wrapping up at The Novo in Los Angeles on June 3. This was unexpected! after collaborating with Zayn on the single “Still Got Time”, PARTYNEXTDOOR has released a surprise remix of Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like.” Giving the retro tinged hit a revamped vibe, the Canadian native turns the Cadillac infused jam into a turned up party in the Hollywood Hills with sex, drugs and R&B. Party seamlessly adds his harmonies and adlibs to Mars’ verses. The track is worth a listen. Well over a year after previewing the song for fans, singer/songwriter Daley has finally released the studio version of his collaboration with singer Jill Scott “Until The Pain Is Gone.” The intoxicating duet is the first single from the UK native’s forthcoming EP, which follows his 2014 debut album “Days + Nights. ” The two singers voices blend seamlessly throughout and tug at the heartstrings in all the right ways. Daley stated during an interview with Billboard that when writing the song he felt Scott would be the perfect collaborator. The track is definitely worth a listen. Rapper Kendrick Lamar released the fourth installment of his rap series “The Heart Pt. 4” last night. On his latest release, the TDE wordsmith fired several shots at the rap game, sending social media into a frenzy. The Compton native fired off several additional bars, adding fuel to the fire. After giving the track several spins, avid listeners have narrowed the list down to a few potential targets, including Big Sean and Drake. Only time will tell where things will go from here.
