Singer Mary J. Blige’s 13th studio album, “Strength Of A Woman”, is due on Friday, and the legendary R&B singer is busy promoting the project. Yesterday, she appeared on “Ellen” to perform her emotional single “Thick Of It.” Sporting a black body suit, and accompanied  by a live band and background singers, Blige belted out the R&B groove that inspired her recent divorce. As mentioned previously, to commemorate the release of the album, VH1 will air a documentary that follows the creation of the project as Blige used the creative process to heal emotional wounds in her personal life. The special will air on May 2 at 11/10c pm. Rising Atlantic Records star Jovanie debuts the visual for his latest single “Two Seater” featuring Lil Yachty. In the Eif Rivera directed clip, the Brooklyn native shows off his choreographed moves in a warehouse as he bumps and grinds with an older woman. Meanwhile, Yachty backs him up throughout the clip, and comes in for the third verse where he raps about cruising  in his Mercedes with a girl who “blows him up like a bowl of soup.” The clip is worth watching. Khalid continues to expand his “Location” within the mainstream. Yesterday, the 19-year-old singer/songwriter took his talents to ABC’s “Good Morning America” for another stellar performance of his breakout hit. Sporting a blue letterman jacket with the letter “k” emblazoned on it, the crooner belted out an acoustic version of the smash for the studio audience. Accompanied by a live band, he vibed out to the tune’s hypnotic chords. Khalid previously performed “Location” on “Ellen” and “The Tonight Show.” Last month, he released an all star remix featuring Lil Wayne and Kehlani. Singer Beyoncé will soon have three children, but before she gives birth to twins, the global superstar is giving back to young women. In honor of the one year anniversary of her album “Lemonade”, Beyoncé announced “Formation Scholars”, a new scholarship program for young women going into the  2017-2018 school year. According to a press release, the scholarship fund is intended to encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and be bold, creative, conscious and confident. In its inauguration year, the scholars will come from Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design and Spellman College. Four scholarships will be awarded, one per college, to female incoming, current  or graduate students pursuing studies in the creative arts, music, literature or African American studies. However, it’s unclear how much money will be awarded to each scholarship winner.  After teasing fans regarding a possible world tour in 2015, Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff now plan to reunite for a two night event in Europe this August. On Monday afternoon, Smith made the announcement via a video on Facebook. Using vintage footage that highlights his camaraderie with DJ Jazzy Jeff, Smith revealed that he and his partner will join forces on August 26-27 in Croatia and the UK, respectively, for the MTV Summerblast and the Livewire Festival. The Philadelphia duo made their mark on the industry in the late 1980’s early 1990’s with lighthearted party raps. Billed as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, they won the first Grammy for Best Rap Performance in 1989 for “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” Despite contractual obligations stemming from Smith’s role on “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air”, he and DJ Jazzy Jeff hit the charts again with the 1991 single “Summertime.” The single reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Smith indicated during an 2015 interview that he was ready to tour under his old hip hop moniker. That performance is one fans won’t want to miss. Bilingual rap duo Los Rakas has released the visual for their single “Y.L.S.” The track follows the Grammy nominated group’s latest offering “Raka Love 2”, which is available exclusively on Apple Music. Without question, the duo has a bright future ahead of them.
