Singer Mary J. Blige is bringing her strength to a city near you! Following the release of her critically acclaimed album “Strength Of  A Woman”, the nine time Grammy winner has announced her forthcoming “Strength Of A Woman Tour”, which begins on July 30 in Chicago. The North American trek is slated to travel to 21 cities, including New York, Atlanta, Miami, Nashville, Dallas, Los Angeles, and others before wrapping up at the Paramount Theater in Oakland CA on Sep. 9. In addition, Blige has invited fellow songstress Lala Hathaway to join the tour as opening act. The tour supports Blige’s thirteenth studio effort, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B Album Chart. 90’s R&B fans get ready! Three of the decade’s top acts will join forces for a spring/summer tour. Following the release of their comeback album “Three Strikes”, Bell Biv DeVoe has announced the “Three Strikes Tour.” The North American trek will include the groups EnVogue, who will be promoting their forthcoming album “Electric Café”, and SWV, who will be promoting their new album “Still.” For the first time ever, these extraordinary artists will appear on the same stage during what promises to be a night filled with funk, soul and harmony. Additionally, legendary group Guy will join the tour as well. The trek, which began on Sunday, will travel to Atlanta, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Dallas and others before wrapping up in Columbia MD on August 6. Singer Estelle is making a proud and powerful statement with her latest single “Woman’s World.” The UK singer/songwriter is one of several artists, which include John Legend and Mary J. Blige, who have teamed with Planned Parenthood for the forthcoming box set/digital stream, “7 Inches For Planned Parenthood.” 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood. On the poignant anthem, the songstress sings about a world without women. During an interview with the Huffington Post, she indicated  that she wanted to make the track push and go. She added that the headlines regarding Planned Parenthood are incorrect. The organization offers other services in addition to abortions. Last month, the creative community announced 7-inches for Planned Parenthood, a curated series of 7-inch vinyl records and digital downloads to benefit Planned Parenthood. The project consists of contributions from creative minds who stand with Planned Parenthood and its patients. The entire 7-inches  for  Planned Parenthood boxset is now available via 7inchdesforplannedparenthood.com with a delivery date slated for early fall. Each single will include a piece of artwork accompanying two sides of unique music, comedy, or spoken word, many of which were given to Planned Parenthood, which offers reproductive health services to 2.5 million men, women and young people each year. Rapper Drake may spend a great deal of his time at the top of charts and other rankings, as he was listed at No. 5 on the Forbes Five: Richest In Hop Hop List, but despite the accolades, the Canadian rarely strays far from his acting roots. Jumping back into the acting pool, Drake recently appeared in a new You Tube comedy sketch created by You Tube comedy duo 4YallEntertainment. If 4YallEntertainment sounds familiar, it’s because Drake sampled the Toronto based duo during the final seconds of the single “Madiba Rhythm”, taken from Drake’s latest effort “More Life.” During the sketch, Drake sits down with You Tube comedians Trey and Jae Richards and begins reminiscing about the first “T-Dot Goon Scrap” DVD he received from his friends. Speaking with a mixture of Caribbean patois and Canadian slang, sub titles appear at the bottom of the screen, hilariously translating Drake’s speech into English. It’s all fun and games until Drake gives the “T-Dot Goon Scrap” DVD a mere three out of ten for sure, causing an argument to ensue between the trio. Producer Boi-1da appears in the clip as well.
