Surprise! singer/songwriter Bryson Tiller has released his highly anticipated sophomore album, “True To Self”, a month early. Initially set for release June 23, the 19 track project was turned lose  at midnight, following an announcement from the crooner via Twitter. The follow up to 2015’s “TRAPSOUL” is led by the previously released single “Something Tells Me.” However, the tracks “Get Mine”, featuring Young Thug and “Honey” didn’t make the album. The tracks “Rain On Me”, “No Longer Friends”, “We Both Know”, “Money Problems” and “Stay Blessed” appear on the project instead. In explaining the meaning of the album Tiller wrote, “when you are being true to yourself, you are being completely honest with what you feel, deeply value and desire. It also means communicating your feelings wholeheartedly both with yourself and others, allowing your truth to flow through you and into the world.” In addition, the visual for the single “Something Tells Me” has been released as well. The sexy clip opens with the singer/rapper pulling up to a white outdoor set with shallow pools filled with beautiful women. Playing the role of photographer, Pen Griffey takes snap shots of the ladies and develops them in a dark room while cooing out the lyrics to the first single from his sophomore effort. Snapping more shots of the beauties on a rocky beach, Tiller sings the sultry break up anthem about the feeling of knowing that a relationship won’t last. “True To Self” may have been a long time coming, but it has definitely proven to be worth the wait. As a  songwriter/producer/musician, Teddy Riley significantly shaped R&B as we know it. In the late 1980’s, Riley masterminded the New Jack Swing genre as the creator of hits for Keith Sweat, Guy, Johnny Kemp, Blackstreet and Bobby Brown. During a recent appearance at the 2017 Red Bull Music Academy in New York City, Riley recounted how it all began, the travails of becoming successful and losing it and the work ethic of some of his most well known and intimate collaborators. Riley told an interesting story about his life and career that was worth listening to. Fans will be happy to know that “Teenage Emotions”, the new album from rapper Lil Yachty, has been released. This marks the debut album from the rapper, which includes special appearances by Migos, YG, Kamaiyah, Diplo and others. Production was handled by Lux Luger, Wondagurl and K Swisha, among others. Fans can pick up “Teenage Emotions” now.
