Other than tag teaming rapper Big Sean on the single “No Favors”, rapper Eminem has been relatively quiet on the music scene during 2017. Now, it appears that fans may have a glimmer of hope regarding a new Slim Shady album courtesy of direct Allen Hughes. During an interview with Uproxx, Hughes, whose most recent film “Defiant Ones” will be released soon, revealed that producer Dr. Dre  is consistently producing and has produced  a new track for Eminem. Rapper 2 Chainz added fuel to the fire  over the weekend during an interview with DJ Drama on 45’s Streetz Iz Watching by revealing that he and Slim Shady recorded a track together after a phone call to D12 member Denaun Porter. Initially, Chainz wasn’t very keen on the idea, considering the fact that they wanted him to redo a hook and throw on some adlibs. Eager to prove himself, 2 Chainz met with Eminem at producer Rick Rubin’s home. After Eminem offered him a guest spot on his remix, 2 Chainz upped the ante by suggesting that he get on the original track as a featured artist. If Eminem has an album on the way, this will mark his first studio effort since his 2013 effort “The Marshall Mathers LP.” So far, no comment from Eminem. While rapper Kendrick Lamar’s latest studio effort “DAMN” was released in April, the Compton native is still promoting it. He’ll soon embark on the “DAMN Tour”, and will even bring the album to life via a series of pop up shops. On Friday, Lamar teased the pop ups on Twitter. Today, he officially announced via Instagram that a number of new apparel shops featuring “DAMN” merchandise will open in the coming weeks. The first store will open in Dallas TX on July 14, to be followed by other locations across North America, including Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and others throughout the summer. Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Tank has announced that he’ll embark on the 14 city “Savage Tour” in support of his forthcoming album. The U.S trek will begin on September 5 in Nashville, visiting such cities as Atlanta, New York, Boston, Cleveland and others before it ends on September 27 in Pittsburgh PA. Tank’s forthcoming album “Savage” will be released this fall. The eleven track project includes special guest appearances by Candice Boyd, J Valentine, Ludacris and label mate Trey Songz. The project includes production from Da Internz, Harmony Samuels and Cardiak. The lead single, “When We”, is a sensual “how to” that will lead listeners to a night of high powered unadulterated passion.
