“Bluebird Of Happiness”, which singer Tamar Braxton has stated will be her final album, although she doesn’t intend to leave music; was released today. The 11 song project features a guest appearance from rapper Yo Gotti. It includes the singles “My Man”, “Blind” and “Pick Me Up”. The album follows Braxton’s 2015 effort “Calling All Lovers”, and according to Braxton, it’s her best album to date. Additionally, she’ll join Xscape and Monica on “The Great Xscape Tour”, which begins on Nov. 22 in Richmond VA. Singer Chante Moore is stepping back into the spotlight as well. She’s released her seventh studio effort “The Rise Of The Phoenix” and the physical copy will be available on Oct. 13. The project contains the singles “Real One” and “Something To Remember.” In addition, she’ll also release her first Christmas album, “Christmas Back To You”, due on Nov. 3. Following a slew of releases, Canadian singer PARTYNEXTDOOR delivers the EP “Seven Days”, which includes songs recorded in seven days. The project includes special guest appearances by rapper Rick Ross and tour mate Halsey. Motown Records signee Kevin Ross unveils the 6 song EP “Drive”, a project that showcases his vocal delivery and artistry. The EP features the single “Long Song Away”, which reached No. 1 on the Nielsen/BDS and Mediabase Urban Adult radio charts and Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs Chart. According to Billboard, the song made Ross the first Motown artist to reach No. 1 on the format since 2010. Freebanz/Epic Records signee rapper Zoey Dollaz has released the visual for the single “Post & Delete”, featuring singer Chris Brown. In the Edward Tran directed clip, the two are surrounded by a bevy of women while they party, drink, smoke cigars and enjoy fun and games. “Poste & Delete” appears on Dollaz’ EP “M’ap Boule”, which includes special guest appearances from Future, ABoogie Wit Da Hoodie, Tory Lanez and others. After scoring a hit with the single “iSpy”, which features Lil Yachty, rapper Kyle intends to continue the momentum with his forthcoming album. To tide fans over until the album is available, the rapper has released three tracks and recruited singer Miguel, rapper Ty Dolla $ign and MadeinTYO for assistance. On “Sunshine”, Kyle persuades his lady to join him in California for some sunshine. He also notes that she may be going through a rough time and tells her that the gloomy sad days won’t exist in Cali. On “Off Of It”, he and Ty Dolla $ign team up on the bubbly pop tune. The two turn their attention to the dance floor as they encourage ladies to “get up off your ass.” Next, Kyle and MadeinTYO rap about wanting a girlfriend to themselves on “All Mine.” These tracks should definitely keep fans satisfied until Kyle’s album is released. After leaving Def Jam Records in 2016, rapper Bi K.R.I.T. kept a low profile. With sparse releases, many pondered how he’d fare on the independent circuit. Today, he released the single “Confetti”, his first single since 2014’s “Mount Olympus.” On the bass heavy track, K.R.I.T. takes rappers who spend frivolously to task. Last year, K.R.I.T. unveiled 12 freestyles in 12 hours, and later announced that he was no longer with Def Jam Records. His latest single is certainly a winner.
Singer/songwriter Daron Jones has recently released “The Unofficial Diary Of Daron Jones Vol. 2.” It features covers of R&B classics such as “Love Ballad” (LTD), “Cause I Love You” (Lenny Williams) and the above mentioned “Giving Up” (Donny Hathaway). The beauty of the project is the musical and vocal arrangements and Jones’ emotive delivery.
Grammy nominated R&B singer/songwriter Calvin Richardson will release his seventh studio effort, “All Or Nothing”, on Friday, September 29, 2017. The project is preceded by the single “Treat Her Right”, which instructs men on how to maintain a healthy relationship. “All Or Nothing” is the follow up to Richard’s 2014 album “I am Calvin.” It features original material while keeping his signature heartfelt, soulful sound in tact. Richardson began singing in the church, but was permitted to listen to secular music. He list Bobby Womack, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Donny Hathaway as his influences. Fast forward to the present, and it’s obvious that with “All Or Nothing”, the R&B Soul Prince is keeping R&B alive. Veteran R&B singer Will Downing returns with the single “I’m Feeling The Love”, a duet with Avery Sunshine. During the collaboration, the two excite the heart and soul with lush harmonies and pitch perfect vocals as they create a landscape of togetherness. “I’m Feeling The Love” is taken from “Soul Survivor”, Downing’s 20th studio effort, which celebrates 30 years in the music industry. Downing has said that his mission is to create a timeless piece of work every time he steps behind the microphone. That he has done, without question. Downing has established himself as one of the most beloved, distinctive and instantly recognizable voices in R&B. The best is yet to come. California native Cadence has released her debut EP “Summer’s End.” The 7 track project is an illustration of experiences from her childhood, past relationships and feelings of inadequacy. Featuring the single “PTSD”, the EP highlights a strong sense of self and realization, and like summer, eventually comes to an end. To celebrate rapper Cardi B.’s breakout single “Bodak Yellow” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Def Jam signee Earl St. Clair has released a remix he titled “Bodak Black.” Produced under his production handle JPDIDTHIS1, he refers to the remix as a soulful tapped out take on “Bodak Yellow.” This spring, St. Clair released his debut EP “I am Earl”. He is currently working on his forthcoming full length album, which is slated to be released next year. Singer Jorja Smith appeared as a musical guest on the UK television hit “Later With Jools Holland” anniversary show. Live from the Royal Albert Hall, the songstress performed her 2016 single “”Blue Lights” and the unreleased track “Don’t Watch Me Cry.” Sporting a green silk dress, the singer belted out the emotional lyrics to the latter over a stirring piano track played by Amane Suganami. Additionally, Smith was joined by fellow singer Kali Uchis for their duet “Tyrant.” The first half of 2017 has been momentous for hip hop label Top Dawg Entertainment, with the release of Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN” and SZA’s “Ctrl.” Up next is rapper ScHoolboy Q upcoming album. .
