Harlem rapper Neek Buck has just released his remake of “Streets Is Watching.” The project commemorates the 20th anniversary of rapper Jay Z’s musical film. The film features four songs inspired by Jay Z’s original version. In 1998, Jay Z complied some unreleased music videos into a musical film that utilized songs from the the albums “Reasonable Doubt” and “In My Lifetime Vol. 1.” The two videos were shot before Jay Z was signed to a label. The film’s storyline takes place in Jay Z’s old Brooklyn neighborhood. Directed by Poke and Tone, Neek Buck’s version contains scenes of robbing, extorting, kidnapping and torture. Everything you’d expect from an urban thriller. Neek’s version differs in that it tells a story more fluidly than Jay’s. Fans will enjoy this one. R&B songstress LaToiya Williams has just released her new single “Save Your Love For Me”, taken from her forthcoming album “Blue Rose”, due out this fall. The track is a classic R&B ballad about hoping that a lover’s interest doesn’t wane during a separation. On “VGVI”, Green enters new territory with the help of producer Kwame. Green also worked as an actress, having appeared in film the De-Lovely and the television series American Dreams. Rapper Logic returns to his roots by bringing back his alter ego Young Sinatra for his latest single “The Return”, released today. The hard hitting track finds the Maryland native flowing over the production of frequent collaborator 6ix, who samples Nina Simone’s “Wild Is The Wind” into the melody. “The Return” inserts a chorus from Logic’s 2012 hit “Dear God.” Here, he boldly calls out Jay Z to collaborate on a song. He also has some choice words for President Donald Trump and is still waiting for a sponsorship deal from tennis shoe giant Nike. The Def Jam artist’s latest effort comes after his moving performance of “One Day” at the 2018 VMAs. Rapper Lil Yachty announced the Disrespect Tour yesterday, with the support of fellow rapper Bhad Bhabie. The U.S tour will begin on October 24 in Baltimore and visit Pittsburgh, Cleveland and New Orleans. Tickets go on sale today.
