Rihanna is with Kaepernick! The singer reportedly turned down an offer to headline the 2019 Superbowl halftime show over her support for Colin Kaepernick. After Rihanna turned down the offer to headline the Merceedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on February 4, 2019, the NFL extended it to Maroon 5, who accepted. They added that rapper Cardi. B may make a special guest appearance during their set to perform the single “Girls Like You.” In 2016, Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem at his NFL games to protest racism and social inequality, with other athletes following his lead. That lead to a heated debate over free speech and protests within sports, and Kaepernick has been unsigned since the 2017 season. He has filed a grievance against the NFL that remains unresolved. He inspired a movement and has become the face of Nike’s 30th anniversary Just Do It campaign. As for Rihanna, she may face some backlash, but may not care. She’s a successful entrepreneur who made Forbes magazine’s 40 Under 40 list last year for the first time. Her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, earned 100 million in its first 40 days, due to the wide array of shades available, a strategy other cosmetics companies have copied. Supa Dups, Reefa, Jerry Wonda, Harmony Samuels and Dre Harris handled the production. The album also includes special guest appearances from Chronixx, Tarrus Riley, Maleek Berry, Alicai Harley, Konshens, and her label signees Nick & Navi. Emerging singer/songwriter Ronnie Walka returns to the spotlight with the single “You & I”, a soulful tribute to womanhood. “You & I” is a passionate plea from a man nearing the end of a relationship he’s trying to save. During the breakup, he begins to reminisce about happier times, yearning to turn back the clock. The make up to break up song will move listeners from start to finish. Both the song and visual are available on all digital streaming platforms, including iTunes and Google  Play.
