R&B fans in the New York area may want to check out RnB Spotlight, which will be held in the lower Manhattan community of SoHo. Entertainment manager, producer, and founder Cory Taylor has teamed with Media Executive, Datwon Thomas and Multiplatinum Grammy winner Faith Evans to present a “Live Digital Showcase.” Doors will open at 7: 30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. RnB Spotlight is an exclusive showcase of local and national R&B artists , blending the old school with the new. One week before launching her 21 date “I Used To Know HER Tour”, the singer/songwriter releases the EP “I Used To Know Her: Part 2.” Unlike “I Used To Know Her: The Prelude”, which featured special guest appearances by Bryson Tiller and DJ Scratch, the new album includes no collaborations, thus keeping the spotlight on the singer’s musical growth and soulful vocals. Newcomer Morrisa Jeanine has just released the EP “Visionbelle”, a project that finds the singer/songwriter using creativity to heal. The well written and arranged songs, in addition to her amazing vocals, make the album superb. Singer Mila J has just released the 10th installment of her 2018 twelve series. Entitled “October 2018”, the project includes four new songs and deals with the highs and lows of Mila’s romantic life. Rising R&B singer Malia stepped into the spotlight with the single “Simple Things”, which was followed by her 7 track EP, “Late Bloomer.” Now, she’s back with the single Sweetwater”, a track that pulls at the heartstrings. “Sweetwater” is the first single from Malia’s forthcoming project, due out in 2019. Rapper Vince Staples began the week by saying he had no music coming. Yesterday, the Long Beach MC confirmed that his latest studio effort, “FM!”, which is the follow up to “Big Fish Theory”, is now available for streaming via all major music markets. Staples stuck to the formula that worked on his previous effort. “FM!” clocks in at 32 minutes and includes 11 tracks. The production work was handled by CuBeatz, Kenny Beats, KillaGraham and Hagler. The artwork features a hand drawn illustration, depicting his own version of California’s Where’s Waldo, featuring a range of characters enjoying the Pacific Ocean. Rapper Takeoff has released his solo effort “The Last Rocket”, which features 12 tracks. The project includes the singles “Last Memory” and “Infatuation.” The album features the production work of DJ Durel, Murda Beatz, TM88, Wheezy, Buddah Bless, Cassius Jay and Nonstop Da Hitman.
