Tremaine Aldon Neverson, known professionally as Trey Songz, is an American singer/rapper/songwriter/actor from Petersburg, VA. While recording his debut album, Neverson released several mixtapes under the alias Prince of Virginia. One of those projects featured an answer track to the R. Kelly hit “Trapped In The Closet” titled “Open The Closet.” The song gave Neverson some notoriety. On July 26, 2005, Neverson released his debut album, “I Got It Made.” It debuted at #20 on the Billboard 200, selling over 40,000 copies in its first week of sales. His sophomore effort, “Trey Day”, was released on October 2, 2007. Neverson has also released the albums “Ready” (2009), “Passion, Pain & Pleasure” (2010), “Chapter V” (2012), “Trigga” (2014) and “Tremaine” (2017).
