Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger has just released his fifth studio effort, “The Rebirth 2”, the sequel to his May 2014 debut and the follow up to last year’s “Eazy Call.” The project is a 2-disc set that contains 16 original songs on side one with special guest appearances by Chris Brown, (“Type Of Way”), Ne-Yo (“More Of Your Love”), Jeremih (“Shadows In The Dark” ), BJ the Chicago Kid (“Back It Up”), “Nipsey Hustle (“That’s Why”), Brittany B. (“No Games” ) and Jaylien (“W.O.W.). Side two features remastered versions of fan favorites from the crooner’s previous releases. Bellinger celebrated the project’s release on Friday with a listening party in Los Angeles that featured a virtual experience via VR goggles. The geodesic dome inside this one of a kind venue provided the perfect futuristic environment for the first taste of R&B’s next wave: virtual reality albums. Bellinger arrived in a space age Tesla sporting space gear and celebrated with Ne-Yo, Meagan Goode and 500+ family and friends. Rising R&B singer Bria Jhane introduces herself to fans via her new single “Back Bone” released via Republic Records/RadioKila Records. Discovered by singer/songwriter/producer The Dream, the songstress has joined the veteran artist on several dates on his current tour. Introduced to music by her mother at age four, the Houston native sites Lauryn Hill and Jill Scott as influences. In between sharing covers on You Tube and singing as much as possible, she also participated in the VH1 series “Signed.” Capturing the hearts of millions, she was victorious and was signed to RadioKila Records by founder and singer/songwriter/producer The Dream. Now, 2019 sees her stepping into the spotlight with “Back Bone.” The track showcases a top notch vocal performance. It’s safe to say that Bria Jhane has a bright future ahead of her. In support of his debut album “Trouble In Paradise”, emerging artist Elhae has released the music video for his new single “Sanctuary”, featuring Big K.R.I.T. In the getaway themed visual, the singer and rapper travel to Cuba. From the beach to an ancient religious sanctuary, the fellas pay homage to the female physique. Elhae’s “Trouble In Paradise” features the single “Hennessy” and includes special guest appearances by Wale, O.T. Genasis and Sevyn Streeter. Veteran R&B singer Brian McKnight has a message for lonely hearts on his first release of 2019. The singer/songwriter/producer has been on the road for much of the year, so it’s only natural that he misses his lady. McKnight is currently preparing his fourteenth studio album “Bedtime Story” with producer Tim Kelley. The album is the follow up to 2018’s “Genesis.” Following his special guest appearance on rapper Offset’s debut solo album, rapper J Cole returns with the music video for his single “Middle Child.” The Mez directed clip begins with Cole rhyming atop the raised runway platform, a group of people at his back singing his praises. The scene pivots to a morgue, where all the bodies are covered, although their auburn covered shoes are showcased. The Dreamville CEO then drives a Bentley truck through the mud to get to his wood cabin the suburbs. He then takes a seat by the fireplace as the camera pans to the rappers he’s taken down over the years, with each stuffed on the mantel above the fire. Each of their trophies bear such engravings as “Your Favorite Rapper”, “This Could Be You” and “Ask For A Feature.” Before the clip comes to a close, Jermaine raps in a grocery store and even his victory lane to celebrate his win with a team in a scene that would be straight out of a NASCAR race.
