Durk Banks, known professionally as Lil Durk, is an American rapper/singer/songwriter from Chicago, IL. Banks initially took a music career seriously in 2011. After plans to sign with Chief Keef and French Montana fell through, he considered rapping full time after the singles “Sneak Dissin” and I”ma Hitta” received positive feedback. On October 19, 2012, he released his third mixtape “Life Ain’t No Joke.” The tape has now been downloaded 216,000 times via DatPiff. In December 2012, Banks released the single “L’s Anthem”, which was remixed and featured French Montana as a re-release. Due to the success of “L’s Anthem” and its followup single “Dis Ain’t What You Want”, Banks accepted a joint venture deal with his label Only The Family and Def Jam Recordings. On June 2, 2015, Banks released his debut album “Remember My Name.” The album peaked at #14 on the Billboard 200, selling 28,000 units; it sold 24,000 copies during its first week, with the remainder of the sales attributed to streaming activity and track sales. He has also released the albums “Lil Durk 2X” (2016) and “Signed To The Streets 3” (2018).
