Alton McClain & Destiny was an American all female disco/R&B group from Los Angeles, CA. Formed in 1978, the trio consisted of Alton McClain, Delores Marie “D’Marie” Warren and Robyrda Stiger. They signed to Polydor Records that same year and released their self-titled debut album in 1979, which was later repackaged under the title “It Must Be Love” several months later. The title track was released as a single, and charted, but their sophomore effort didn’t sell well. The group was dropped less than a year after its release and they disbanded in 1981. McClain later married producer Skip Scarborough and continued working in the music industry. She continued working as a gospel singer, releasing the albums “God’s Woman” in 1995 and “Renaissance” in 2005. Warren and Stiger went on to sign with Epic Records as part of the all-female group Krystol. Krystol released the albums “Getting Ready” , “Talk Of The Town” and “Passion From A Woman.” D’Marie Warren died in a car accident on February 22, 1985 at age 32.
