Courtney Shanade Salter, known professionally as Ari Lennox, is an American singer/songwriter from Washington, DC. In 2012, Salter began uploading her music to the internet, as she released her debut mixtape, “Five Finger Discount”, and debut EP, “Ariography”, in 2013. In 2014, she continued uploading her music, including her independently released single “Bound.” On July 21, 2015, she was featured on the track “Sweat It Out”, taken from the Omen album “Elephant Eyes.” Later that year, her music began circulating around the Dreamville Records team, as rapper J Cole wanted to work with her on some references for Rihanna. On December 8, she signed with Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016, she released her debut EP “Pho.” She collaborated with J Cole on the single “Change” and released several  solo singles, including “Whipped Cream”, “40 Shades Of Choke” and “Grampa.” On May 7, 2019, she released her debut album “Shea Butter Baby.”
