Adele Emily Sande, known professionally Emeli Sande, is a British singer/songwriter. Sande wrote her first song at age 11 for a primary school talent show. Her music career began after her sister made a video of her playing piano and singing one of her favorite songs, “Nasty Little Lady.” The clip was sent to Trevor Nelson’s BBC Urban music competition. Sande won the competition, and was offered a deal, but the management she met at the time decided against the deal. Sande became involved with the Urban Scot collective, who encouraged her career by promoting her in Scotland, and also released an album titled “Have You Heard?” via Glasgow Records, which was sold at gigs. Several tracks were also made available for download. She  also collaborated with Wiley on his comeback single “Never Be Your Woman.” She signed with Virgin Records in 2010. She signed another deal with EMI Records in 2011. She has released several singles, including “Daddy” and “Heaven.” She has released the albums “Our Version Of Events” (2012), “Long Live The Angles” (2016) and “Real Life” (2019).
