They began their careers as background singers for Grammy winning singer/songwriter Anthony Hamilton. Now, The Hamiltones are slated to release their debut EP, “Watch The Ton3s”, on June 7. With that release date looming, the trio unveils the single “Money Can’t Buy You Love (Remix)” today. Featuring rapper Phonte and singer Ricco Barrino, the melodic “Money” is the follow up to the single “Pieces.” Set off by the silky harmonies of J Vito, Tony Lelo and 2E, the song tells the story of a man who learns that real love is about more than having deep pockets to support the woman of his dreams. Streetz Mentor and Gotti Rock did the production work, which includes the guitar work of Lelo. In addition to “Money”, the forthcoming EP includes five original recordings. Fans can expect to hear more of what brought The Hamiltones to the forefront via their collaborations with Anthony Hamilton, PJ Morton and Tori Kelly. While there are no plans for a full length album as of yet, The Hamiltones plan to release a series of EPs that will span several genres. In the meantime, the trio has several performances lined up, including an appearance at the Essence Music Festival along with PJ Morton, as well as appearances at the Vancouver Island MusicFest in Canada, the Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival in Canada and the African American Cultural Festival in Raleigh, NC.
