Chester Jennings, known professionally as Lyfe Jennings, is an American R&B singer/songwriter/producer/musician. He began his career as a member of the group The Dotsons, which consisted of himself, his brother, and two cousins. In the early 1990’s, the band disbanded. During this time, Jennings began getting into legal trouble and his career came to a halt when he was sent to prison at age 14. In 2002, after serving 10 years in prison, Jennings returned to his musical asperations. Two days after his release, he recorded a four-song demo CD. One month later, he performed at the Apollo Theater. Jennings sold 1,000 copies of his four-song CD during his Apollo Theater residency. His success influenced him to move to New York City and pursue a major label deal with Columbia Records. In August 2004, Columbia released his debut album “Lyfe 268-192.” He has released the albums “The Phoenix” (2006), “Lyfe Change” (2008) “I Still Believe” (2010), “Lucid” (2013), “Tree Of Lyfe” (2015) and “777” (2019).
