Singer Cornell “CC” Carter broke through in 2018 after winning SoulTracks’ Reader’s Choice Artist of the Year Award. Carter has worked with James Brown, Ray Charles, The Temptations and Narada Michael Walden. It’s obvious that Carter went to soul school, and he has learned well. Following the release of his project “One Love”, Carter returns with “I See Love”, an uptempo number that will likely be embraced by steppers everywhere. “I See Love” features Carter’s emotive baritone and arrangements that are at once orchestral  and funky along with lyrics that show us that good old fashioned romance never goes out of style. Singer Raheem DeVaughn shares the good fortune of finding the right person in his new music video “Just Right.” The clip, which was directed by Chris Scholar, stars singer/actress V. Bozeman as DeVaughn’s love interest. “Just Right” is the first single from DeVaughn’s seventh studio effort, “The Love Reunion.” The track was produced by Tim Kelley, formerly of the production duo Tim & Bob. During a recent interview, DeVaughn indicated that the song was inspired by his love of R&B and the culture. He added that it’s also intended to celebrate not only black and brown women, but all women globally. “Just Right” is the first of 13 forthcoming videos that will complete DeVaughn’s story line, which will be revealed soon. DeVaughn is currently developing various film and television projects and helming his LoveLife Foundation, which helps men and women suffering domestic abuse as well as people living with HIV/AIDS. He’s also writing and producing several tracks for V. Bozeman’s upcoming album, to be released via SRG. Her first single is due out in September. Needless to say, fans can expect more from DeVaughn in the future.
