Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, known professionally as Big Sean, is an American rapper/singer/songwriter from Detroit, MI. Anderson showcased his rhyming skills in high school as part of a weekly rap battle contest held by Detroit radio station WHTD. In 2005, rapper Kanye West did an interview at 102.7 FM. Upon hearing this, Anderson made his way to the station to meet West and perform a freestyle. Initially, West was reluctant to hear Anderson. However, he gave Anderson 16 bars to perform for him. After the freestyle, Anderson left West a demo tape. Two years later, he was signed to G.O.O.D. Music. On September 30, 2007, Anderson released his debut mixtape “Finally Famous: The Mixtape.” On April 16, 2009, Anderson released his second mixtape “UNKNOWNBIGSEAN.” On June 28, 2011, Anderson released his full length debut album “Finally Famous.” It spawned the singles “My Last”, “Marvin & Chardonnay” and “Dance (Ass).” He has also released the albums “Hall Of Fame” (2013), “Dark Sky Paradise” (2015), “I Decided” (2017) and “Double Or Nothing” (2017).
