Austin Richard Post, known professionally as Post Malone, is an American rapper/singer/songwriter/producer. It’s been rumored that Post’s stage name is a reference to NBA star Karl Malone, but Post later explained that Post is his last name. Post began his career after moving to Los Angeles with several other producers who went by the moniker BLCKVRD to record music together. The group moved into a house in the San Fernando Valley, where Post met 1st Down and Rich of FKi; who produced several tracks for Post, including the single “White Iverson”, which was a reference to NBA star Allen Iverson. “White Iverson” was uploaded to Post’s Soundcloud account, and a music video  was released as well. After earning one million views within a month of “White Iverson’s” release, Post garnered the attention of several record labels. In August 2015, Post signed a recording contract with Republic Records. On May 12, 2016, Post released the mixtape “August 26”, a reference to the release date of his  full length debut album. His debut album, “Stoney”, was released on December 9, 2016. He has also released the albums “Beerbongs & Bentleys” (2018) and “Hollywood’s Bleeding” (2019).
