Austin Richard Post, known professionally as Post Malone, is an American rapper/singer/songwriter/producer. The name was rumored to be a reference to NBA star Karl Malone, but Post later explained that Post is his last name, and he used a rap name generator to get Malone. At age 16, Post created his first mixtape “Young And Them Riches.” Shortly thereafter, he moved to Los Angeles with several other producers and formed the group BLCKVRD, which recorded music together. The group then moved into a home in the San Fernando Valley together. Post later met 1st Down and Rex Kudo of FKi. The duo went on to produce several tracks for Post, including the single “White Iverson”, a reference to NBA star Allen Iverson. In February 2015, Post uploaded “White Iverson” to his Soundcloud account. On July 19, 2015, a music video was released. One month later, Post began garnering the attention of record labels. On May 12, 2016, Post released his full length mixtape “August 26”, which was  a reference to the release date of his debut album. In December 2016, Post released his debut album “Stoney.” Post has also released the albums “Beerbongs & Bentleys” (2019) and “Hollywood’s Bleeding” (2019).
