The current resurgence of mainstream R&B is due partly to women’s vulnerability. From Summer Walker to Ari Lennox, the genre’s new crop of female singers embrace their flaws and use their lyrics to reveal their journey to healing. Shari Mari, a rising singer/songwriter from the Bronx, New York, hopes to do the same with her debut album “Reflection.” Released Sept. 12, the songstress worked with producer Swagg R’Celious on the project. The singer got her start by uploading funny videos to the now defunct Vine at age 14, but soon noticed that her clips garnered more followers. She later transitioned to Instagram, which helped her land a recording contract with Same Plate in 2017. She’s one to watch. Cable network HBO tapped rapper Pusha T to remix the theme song from the show “Succession.” After hearing parallels between himself and main character Logan Roy from his manager, Pusha  binge-watched  the first season of the series and became a fan of the show. The rapper teased the remix, featuring composer Nick Britell, which will be released Friday ahead of season 2’s finale.
