R&B veteran Montell Jordan returns to the spotlight with his eighth studio effort and first album in over a decade. Titled “The Masterpiece”, the 10-song project is the follow up to 2008’s “Let It Rain” and features special guest appearances by Christian rapper Lecrae, his wife Kristen Jordan, Dove Award winner Crystal Nicole, and more. The album’s first single, “When I’m Around You”, features Lecrae as the album dabbles in the inspiration and R&B genres with themes of love, relationships, lasting memories and more. The content is positive and inspirational, and Montell, who retired from music to join the church a decade ago, sounds unapologetically happy. Earlier this month, Montell and Keith Sweat announced a set of UK tour dates for March 2020, including dates in Manchester on March 26th, indigo2 London on March 28th and 02 Birmingham Institute on March 29th. Tickets for the TCO and Geestar Empire tour are available via the venues and the usual ticket outlets. Relationships are hard work. Rising Philadelphia sensation Doug C. Jr. expresses that sentiment on his latest single, “Why Would I Lie.” According to Doug, “Why Would I Lie” is about the beauty and uncertainty of love. Trust and reassurance are paramount. The ShizzieWho directed video shows a day in the life of a couple with the essentials that serve a strong foundation in their relationship, according to Doug: love, trust and reassurance. “Why Would I Lie” is the follow up to Doug’s 2018 single “Mean.” R&B veteran and Dru Hill front man Sisqo just released his highly anticipated project, “Genesis.” Released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, “Unleash The Dragon”, the album features four mid-temp numbers that capture Sisqo’s sound. “Drag/On”, “Bend Down”, “Round & Round” and “Baby Girl” are all dance floor ready jams fans will surely love. Sisqo has also hinted at a new Dru Hill album in the near future. Singer Eric Bellinger just released his brand new album, “Cuffing Season 3.” The 23-song project finds Bellinger wooing both lovers and side pieces alike with emotion-filled intimate gems, fitting for the season’s low temperatures. From uptempo numbers to ballads, “Cuffing Season 3” will certainly set the mood.
