Ronnie James Tucker, known professionally as Ro James, is a German born, American singer/songwriter. James sang throughout his childhood, but never sang in public. He moved to New York where he was influenced by his aunt Rosie Gaines, a former singer for Prince. His love of the album “Purple Rain” landed him in the studio at age 19. His career as a songwriter began with the song “Portrait.”, which lead to writing credit on the song “Use Me” for R&B star Miguel, with whom he bonded via MySpace. James performed in and around New York with Luke James and Wynter Gordon. In 2013, he released his debut EP “Coke, Jack And Cadillacs.” Each part represented important themes in his life; his first love, his first drink, and his first car. The EP featured the singles “A.D.I.D.A.S.” and “Pledge Allegiance.” In 2015, James signed with ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records and released the single “Permission”, his first on a major label. The song reached number 37 on the US Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. On May 27, 2016, James released his debut album, “Eldorado.” It debuted at number 71 on the Billboard 200 chart.
