Rising singer/songwriter/actor Zaku steps into the spotlight with the single and video “Underwater.” Directed by Jay Blaze, Alia, Only Carey, and Zaku himself, the crooner plays a lover trying to persuade his leading lady to fall in love with him. Using imagery, Zaku’s soft vocals and symbolic nature win over both the love interest and fans. A debut visual presentation, “Underwater” is Zaku’s introduction on a global scale. Zaku’s star has been on the rise with a grassroots fanbase that has been following him since the early days. Born in Manila and raised in Japan, Zaku moved to Los Angeles at age 19 where he spent 18 months studying the performing arts at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. His first EP, “All I Need”, is a five-song project that features the singles “Kanpai” and “Alien Girl” and accumulated over 50,000 streams on Spotify. The popularity transforms into great residual streaming for the artist moving forward. Zaku and Jay Blaze have been collaborators since the beginning of Zaku’s career. Also an actor, Zaku also appears along side Only Carey on the You Tube series, “Budget Boys.” “Underwater” is the first single from Zaku’s forthcoming project, “Young Yesterday”, due out on February 28. Fans can expect to hear more from Zaku in the future.
