People’s Choice is an American funk/R&B band from Philadelphia, PA. The group was formed in 1971 by Frank Brunson and David Thompson. Although the group had several vocalists, their biggest hits were instrumentals. Their debut single, “I Likes To Do It”, reached #9 on the Billboard R&B chart and #38 on the Billboard Hot 100. Producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff signed the band to Philadelphia International Records in 1974. Their debut single for the label, “Do It Any Way You Wanna”, sold a million copies in three months and was certified gold by the RIAA in November 1975. Brunson died on November 24, 2007 after a long illness. People’s Choice released the albums “Boogie Down USA” (1975), “We Got Rhythm” (1976), “Turn Me Loose” (1978), “People’s Choice” (1980), “Still In Love With You” (1982) and “Striking” (1984).
