For two decades MC Eiht has been one of hip hop’s most recognizable voices and one of Compton’s finest originators and emcees. Eiht rose to prominence as a member of Compton’s Most Wanted, whose debut album “Music To Drive By” is a gangster rap classic. Similarly, Eiht also contributed components and compositions to genre-defining films, offering the chilling “Growing Up In The Hood” to “Boyz N The Hood” and following “Music To Drive By” with an impressive performance in the film “Menace To Society”, which featured the standout contribution “Straight Up Menace” on the soundtrack. Although credited as MC Eiht featuring Compton’s Most Wanted, Eiht took on a more singular role with “We Come Strapped”, which was certified gold and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. His sophomore effort, “Death Threats”, debuted at No. 3. on the Billboard chart. Eiht has released several EPs and collaborated with Kendrick Lamar in addition to participating in the 2019 Compton’s Most Wanted reunion album “Gangasta Business”, which was over a decade in the making. Recently, Eiht announced his forthcoming album, “Lessons”, due out on September 18. The project features special guest appearances by DJ Premier, Conway The Machine, Dave East, Havoc, Talib Kweli, B Real and Kurupt among others. In addition to the album announcement, Eiht has released the single “Honcho”, featuring Conway The Machine and DJ Premier. Eiht and DJ Premier collaborated on the 2017 album “Which Way Iz West.”
