Durk Derrick Banks, known professionally as Lil Durk, is an American rapper/singer/songwriter/producer. He is the founder and CEO of the record label Only The Family. Banks began to take music seriously in 2011. After plans to sign with Chief Keef and French Montana’s labels fell through, Banks began considering rapping full time after his first two singles, “Sneak Dissin” and “I’ma Hitta”, both received positive feedback. On October 19, 2012, Banks released his third mixtape, “Life Ain’t No Joke.” In December 2012, Banks released the single “L’s Anthem”, which was remixed, featuring French Montana, as a re-release. Due to the popularity of “L’s Anthem” and “Dis Ain’t What U Want” in 2013, Banks accepted a joint venture deal with Only The Family and Atlantic Records. His debut album, “Remember My Name”, was released on June 2, 2015. His sophomore effort, “Lil Durk 2X”, was released on July 22, 2016. Banks has also released “Signed To The Streets 3” (2018), “Love Songs 4 The Streets” (2019) and “Just Cause Y’all Waited 2” (2020).
