Symere Bysil Woods, known professionally as Lil Uzi Vert, is an American rapper/singer/songwriter from Philadelphia, PA. Charaterized by his face tattoos, facial piercings, eccentric hair hairstyles and androgynous fashion, his music is defined by often dark subject matters and imagery built on a melodic emo approach to trap. Woods rose to prominence following the release of the mixtape “Luv Is Rage” (2015), which lead to a recording contract with Atlantic Records, whom he signed to under DJ Drama’s Generation Now imprint. Woods attracted mainstream attention with the single “Money Longer” in 2016. The song was the lead single from the mixtape “Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World” (2016), which also featured the single “You Was Right.” After releasing two addition mixtapes in 2016 and 2017, including one collaboration with Gucci Mane, Woods was featured on the Migos single “Bad And Boujee.” He later secured his first top ten single with “XO Tour Llif3”, which won the MTV Video Music Award for Song of Summer. “XO Tour Llif3” was the lead single from Woods’ debut album “Luv Is Rage 2” (2017), which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association Of America. Woods received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist at the 2018 Grammy Awards. His sophomore album, “Eternal Atake”, was one of the most highly anticipated albums in hip hop and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The single “Heart In Pieces” is a collaboration with rapper Future.
