Acclaimed vocal coach Stevie Mackey is adding some soul to Christmas with the release of his debut album “The Most Wonderful Time.” While Mackey usually works behind the scenes helping others fine tune their talent on NBC’s The Voice, he’s ready to take center stage as a solo performer. When reflecting on his deep love of Christmas music, he felt that a holiday album would be the perfect way to introduce his artistry to the masses. The project features special guest appearances by JoJo, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris of Boyz To Men, Jennifer Lopez, Take 6, Shelea, Cory Henry, and Justin Lee Schultz. While the album features an array of genres, Mackey’s voice anchors the project. His innate ability to breathe new life into songs that have been covered countless times is awe-inspiring. Every note, every inflection, and every breath is filled with deep conviction and delivered with soul. “Jesus What A Wonderful Child”, “River” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?” are among the standout tracks on an album that fans will enjoy for years to come. Singer Jazmine Sullivan returns to the spotlight with a breakup anthem fans may not have known they needed titled “Pick Up Your Feelings.” The song is the followup to the single “Lost One.” Both songs will appear on Sullivan’s forthcoming untitled EP. This will be her first project since 2015’s “Reality Show”, which spawned the hit “Let It Burn.” From the production, to the writing to her vocals, Sullivan is definitely in her element here, and “Pick Up Your Feelings” is a must add to your playlist.
