Christopher Maurice Brown, known professionally as Chris Brown, is an American singer/songwriter/actor/dancer from Tappahannock, VA. He began his career singing in his church choir before competing in talent shows shortly thereafter. In 2004, Brown signed with Jive Records. He released his self-titled debut album later that year, which was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Brown’s debut single, “Run It”, became the first single by a male artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 since 1997. His sophomore effort, “Exclusive”, was released in 2007. It spawned his second number one “Kiss Kiss.” In addition to his solo work, Brown has also been featured on several successful singles, including “No Air” by Jordin Sparks, “Shortie Like Mine” by rapper Bow Wow and “Shawty Get Loose” by Lil Mama and T-Pain. In 2009, Brown released his third album, “Graffiti.” His fourth album, “F.A.M.E.”, was released in 2011. He also released the albums “Fortune” (2012), “X” (2014), “Royalty” (2015), “Heartbreak On A Full Moon” (2017) and “Indigo” (2019).
