I was introduced to hip hop via the single “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugarhill Gang. The year was 1979, and I was a middle school student at the time. I was amazed by what I heard. The sound was fresh, innovative and captivating. The perfect vehicle for cultural change as the country entered a new decade. Many incredible artists emerged in the years to come, and my heart and mind are filled with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. With that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of the twenty best hip hop albums of all time in no particular order.
