After 7 is an American R&B vocal group founded by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds and Keith Mitchell. Jason Edmonds, son of Melvin Edmonds, later joined. The Edmonds brothers are the older siblings of singer/songwriter/producer/musician Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Mitchell was long thought to be the cousin of Babyface’s then songwriting partner Antonio “LA” Reid; however, this was set up as a marketing tool for the group and was incorrect. Melvin Edmonds died on May 18, 2019, at the age of 65. Jason left the group shortly thereafter. They have released the albums “After 7” (1989), “Taking My Time” (1992), “Reflections” (1995) and “Timeless” (2016). The group is set to release the album “Unfinished Business.” “Bittersweet” is the lead single from the album.
