Yolanda Whitaker, known professionally YoYo, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, CA. Much of Whitaker’s music advocates female empowerment and denounces the sexism and misogyny in rap music. Whitaker is the protege of rapper Ice Cube. She has released the albums “Make Way For The Motherlode” (1991), “Black Pearl” (1992), “You Better Ask Somebody” (1993) and “Total Control” (1996).
