Singer Angel Sessions just released the album “The Best Of Angel Sessions.” The album’s lead single, “You Missed A Good Thing”, is a song planted in the past as well as the present. The bouncy bass line and rhythmic hand claps recall 1970s and 80s R&B and funk, while the rap that comes midway through is a nod not only to some of the great female rappers of the past, but an acknowledgement of the role that women hip hop artists now play in pushing back against some of the less than enlightened content coming from their male counterparts. Sessions has a wide ranging career in gospel and R&B. Enjoy “You Missed A Good Thing.”
