The Weeknd tapped Summer Walker for a remix of the single “Best Friend”, which is available today. The superstar took to Twitter to make the announcement on Wednesday. The Weeknd, who has been on his After-Hours Til Dawn Tour with supporting acts Mike Dean and Kaytranada, has been supporting his fifth studio album by releasing several remixes. Fellow Canadian Kaytranada remixed “Out Of Time”, while Dean remixed “Starry Eyes.” Oneohtrix, one of PM Dawn’s executive producers, did the honors on the titular track, and most recently, Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia and Salvatore Ganacci released the remix of “How Do I Make You Love Me?” on July 22, the same day The Weeknd released an animated music video for the track. Walker’s 2021 release “Still Over It” earned her a splashy debut atop the Billboard 200 and marked both the first R&B album by a woman to top the albums tally in more than five years and the largest streaming week ever for an R&B album by a woman. Her last release was a remix of her collaboration with SZA “No Love”, which also features Card B. Listen to “Best Friend Remix” below.
