R&B Spotlight: It Seems To Hang On-Melba Moore

30 Friday Jun 2023

This song is the property of The Gallery Ent/Orpheus Enterprises.

Veteran singer/actress Melba Moore returns with her new single “It Seems To Hang On.” The singer transforms the R&B/funk classic originally recorded by Ashford & Simpson into a contemporary percussive trap and hip hop-infused R&B hit than can fit into the sound heard on Urban radio today. She reworked the lyrics some, but the theme about lingering aftereffects of a love affair remains. Moore’s long and illustrious career makes “It Seems To Hang On” a good fit for urban adult contemporary while the contemporary production techniques would not make it out of place on outlets that cater to a younger demographic. The constant is the voice. Moore still sounds marvelous. Enjoy.
