Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter/producer/actor Johnta Austin just released the single “Love Angel.” The So So Def signee has written songs for Mariah Carey, Tyrese, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and others. The Atlanta native also served as Supervisor Music Director for the Fox television series “Star.” He used the opportunity as music director and his role on the show to remain relevant in the music industry, in addition to making music that changes with the times and stays authentic. In 2006, Austin released his debut album “Ocean Drive”, and since then, fans have been waiting for new music. After 12 years, the crooner will be releasing his own audio and visual project titled “Love, Sex & Religion.” His new single will make women feel desirable. The song’s rich bass line hits the ears like a heartbeat as he sings about admiring the one you love. Austin wants the song to make affection and vulnerability toward women acceptable. Austin’s sophomore effort will be released on Aug. 2, 2019. It will be a truly soulful R&B album with a fresh take on spirituality through lush harmonies that will pierce the heart.

Kevin Smith, known professionally as Love Bug Starski, was an American rapper/musician/producer. He began his career as a record boy in 1971 as hip hop appeared in the Bronx. He eventually became a DJ at the Disco Fever in 1978. Smith recorded his first single, “Positive Life”, for Tayster Records in 1981.  A short time later, he recorded a single for the Rappin soundtrack, which was released on Atlantic Records, before recording his debut album, “House Rocker”, for Epic/CBS Records. The album featured the single “Amityville”, which was a reference to the film The Amityville Horror. The single reached #12 on the UK Singles Chart in 1986. Smith died of a heart attack in Las Vegas on February 8, 2018, at age 57, while moving speakers out of storage into his apartment. He had moved to Las Vegas to revive his DJ career with gigs, including a residency at the rooftop lounge of Indian restaurant Turmeric Flavors of India. His final appearance was hours before his death.

This song is the property of Capitol Records.

Tavares (also known as The Tavares Brothers), is an American R&B, soul and funk vocal quintet composed of five Cape-Verdean-American brothers from New Bedford, MA. The group consist of Ralph, Pooch (Arthur), Tiny (Perry), Chubby (Antone) and Butch (Feliciano) Tavares. The  group began performing in 1959 as Chubby and the Turnpikes when the youngest brother was 9. Their debut album included older brother Victor, who sang lead on “Check It Out”, but dropped out a short time later. In 1974, Tavares had a #1 R&B hit with “She’s Gone”, which became a hit for Hall & Oats as well two years later. 1975 was their most successful year chart wise, as “Remember What I Told You To Forget” hit #25 and “It Only Takes A Minute” hit #1 R&B and went Top Ten Pop. They also charted with “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel”, “Don’t Take Away The Music”, “Whodunit” and “Never Knew Love Like This Before.” Today, Tavares consist of brothers Pooch, Chubby, Tiny and Butch Tavares. They released the albums “Check It Out” (1974), “Hard Core Poetry” (1974), “In The City” (1975), “Sky High!” (1976), “Love Storm” (1977), “Future Bound” (1978), “Madam Butterfly” (1979), “Supercharged” (1980), “Love Uprising” (1980), “Loveline” (1981), “New Directions” (1982) and “Words And Music” (1983).
